As part of the Sustainable Transport team, your primary focus will be on the decarbonization of shipping (inland and marine).

Your responsibilities include:

• Identifying (new) opportunities to enhance sustainable transport within and beyond the port, converting them into concrete projects, new value propositions and sustainable partnerships.
• Coordinating multiple leads and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve change.
• Embracing trial-and-error as part of new business development, making choices and proposing new ways forward, demonstrating flexibility and the possibility to realize change.
• Promoting the Port of Rotterdam Authority at relevant events, building and maintaining a network of relevant stakeholders.

• CONDOR: creating an ecosystem for swappable hydrogen containers for inland barges.

• Your initial gross salary, depending on your education, knowledge and experience, will be up to € 5.300 per month for a 36-hour working week.
• 36-hour working week.
• A one-year contract with a view to a permanent appointment.
• Reimbursement of expenses for travel by car or public transport.
• A personal choice budget of 19.6% on top of your gross monthly salary (comprising holiday allowance (8%), thirteenth month (8.33%), vitality contribution (2.3%) and an extra budget of 0.97%). You can opt to have the whole or part of this accrued budget paid out in the interim and/or can use it for tax-efficient settlement of the purchase of a bicycle, make extra pension contributions to ABP, purchase additional leave, pay for training fees (non-job-related) or for career advice.

The Sustainable Transport team is part of the Clean Industry & Transport department that works closely together on sustainable business development for the port, accelerating the raw material and fuel transition, by facilitating opportunities for renewable fuels & chemicals and circular economy.

• Knowledge & experience: at least five years of experience in a similar position in maritime, logistics, sustainable solutions, commercial and/or business development. Knowledge of alternative fuels is an advantage.
• Commercial and strategic insight: have an understanding of market dynamics and the Port Authority’s role, see opportunities in every situation and have the ability to think beyond the usual.
• Stakeholder management: you are an experienced stakeholder manager with the ability to maintain relationships in an international environment.
• Innovative and initiative: someone who thinks creatively, can work independently and take the lead when situationcalls for it.
• Language: good command of the Dutch and English language.
