Human Resources Intern (start September 2024)

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic HR Intern (32 hours) to join our HR-team! You will join a diverse and enthusiastic team with a professional and hands on mentality and an informal way of working. The HR team consists of our Executive Manager HR, our HR Department Head, our HR Coordinator and 7 HR Business Partners. We work together with 2 HR Officers, a recruitment team, and a salary administration team. Together, we are responsible for the whole HR-cycle of approximately 600 employees based in the Rotterdam office.

With this internship at Viterra, our goal is to kick off your career as HR-professional in a professional and international environment. As our HR Intern we ask you to be proactive and take on responsibilities with the guidance of our HR Business Partners and take the lead in your own development.Besides gaining knowledge about many HR aspects, you will be involved in different HR processes and projects, such as vitality, succession planning, traineeships and learning & development.

After completing your internship

• You are able to coordinate a recruitment process and interview candidates;
• You understand and have been involved in the entire HR-cycle at Viterra;
• You are visible to colleagues from different layers of our business and are able to present yourself in a professional manner;
• You have had discussions with managers about processes such as drafting and reviewing job descriptions;
• You are able to present proposals for improvement to your HR-colleagues;
• We might offer you a part-time job in our team while continuing to develop yourself during the completion of your studies.

• A challenging internship for 32 hours a week in our Human Resources Department within a world-leading, fully integrated agriculture network;
• An appropriate internship allowance of €400 , based on 32 hours;
• A professional and stimulating environment in which enthusiastic and driven colleagues work together in a practical and informal way;
• A modern, open and inspiring office in the centre of Rotterdam, next to the Markthal and Blaak station;
• Gaining experience in working within an international commodity business, collaborating with many departments and different stakeholders;

• You are completing a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management (3rd year);
• You are eager to learn, self-reflective and enthusiastic;
• You are able to work independently, but enjoy being part of a team;
• You have good communications skills in English and Dutch (written and spoken).
