Plant Controller

As a Plant Controller you will realize the ambitious financial targets for our location in Rotterdam. You will identify and lead areas for improvements, conduct analysis of actual versus forecasts in close cooperation with local stakeholders. You ensure effective forward-looking capabilities translated in reliable financial forecasting. Next to that, you identify foreseeable financial problems and opportunities and acts upon. You will be responsible for accounting & financial reporting withing compliance directives (IFRS and Webfem).

Further to this your tasks will exist of:

• Strategic impact: Secure strategic impact by developing plans together with Operations (MT) members e.g. by taking an active role in identifying, analyzing implications and options for the Chlorine, Caustic and Utility plants. Initiates alternative site scenario’s and takes responsibility of the execution of pre- & post calculations of different scenarios.
• Capex & restructuring: challenge project-assumptions and outcomes by providing a strong & independent view. Deals with uncertainties at an early stage and challenges colleagues. Tracks outcome of major investments & restructuring decision and ensures that is learned from the past.
• Plant controlling: Responsible for monitoring the daily data in EPI MES (logistics systems for finished goods). Prepare Goods movement reports & share with Production Team and Site Controller. Make efficiency reports and communicate them with SLT and other relevant leaders. Overall reconciliation between EPI MES and SAP.
• Business performance improvement: Identify hidden business performance opportunities and risks for Operations but also across Sites by identifying financial process alignment.
• Cost Control: Support the ‘Business Support Manager’ with achieving cost targets and saving potentials.
• Project Support: Support projects within the areas of e.g. Purchase to Pay (P2P), Sustainability and Warehousing.
• Decision support: Ensure adequate framing of decisions (and contracts) so that relevant business information is considered and assessed against the business/function objectives. Implement central ISC measurement system and deploys analytical tools.
• Internal Control: Develop and maintain adequate internal control framework including AO/IC manual. Take action with respect to internal and external financial / operational audits. Identifies internal control risks arising from plans. Ensures adherence to Corporate and BU authority schedules.
• Insurance management: Record and manage property damage claims to enable maximum insurance coverage.

As a Plant Controller you have relevant working experience (3-5 years) in finance and you are ready to make a next step. You are ambitious and see this function as part of your further development. You can work independently and take a proactive approach to initiate areas of improvement.

Further to this you recognize yourself in the following points:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business administration, Economics, or a related field
• Excellent knowledge of SAP, Business Warehouse and Excel, Power BI is preferable
• Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
• Proven knowledge on management control cycles, costing tools, etc
• Excellent communication skills
• Affinity and interest in working with cross functional teams
• Fluency in English both verbal and written, Dutch is a big advantage
