Public Finance Lead

As a Public Finance Manager, you will play a critical role in securing grant funding and managing public finance opportunities to support Paebbl’s growth. You will drive strategy, execution, and compliance, ensuring we maximize funding opportunities while maintaining regulatory alignment.

Grant Strategy and Opportunity Identification

• Develop a targeted grant strategy aligned with Paebbl’s innovation and growth goals.
• Identify and prioritize relevant small-scale grant opportunities to support our research and development.
• Implement a systematic approach to tracking and evaluating potential funding sources.

Proposal Development and Submission

• Craft compelling grant proposals that effectively communicate Paebbl's carbon-storing material innovations.
• Ensure all applications meet grant requirements and deadlines.
• Collaborate with technical team members to accurately represent our technology in proposals.

Grant & Subsidy-related Financial Management and Reporting

• Develop project budgets that optimize the impact of grant funding for our research and development.
• Establish efficient financial tracking systems suited for a startup environment.
• Ensure compliance with all grant requirements and reporting obligations.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain relationships with key internal teams, including R&D, engineering, and leadership.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing to enhance grant applications and project execution.

Regulatory and Market Intelligence

• Stay informed about evolving regulations and policies related to carbon-storing materials and public finance.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activities in the carbon capture and storage sector.

Key Qualifications

• Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in grant writing, public finance, or startup fundraising, preferably in sustainability or materials science.
  • Proven track record in successfully securing grants and subsidies for R&D-heavy CAPEX businesses.
  • Experience in developing AI-augmented public finance processes is a strong plus.
• Skills:
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, particularly in crafting grant and subsidy applications.
  • Strong analytical skills to develop financial models and assess funding opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.

• Experience in a fast-paced industry such as technology or startups, especially within companies that successfully raised public finance alongside private funding.
