OverigAre you a proactive safety professional with a passion for cultivating a truly safe and healthy work environment? At Bunge, we believe that safety is paramount. As our new Safety Coordinator at the Bunge plant in Amsterdam, you will be instrumental in upholding the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental excellence for all our employees and operations.
This vital role places you at the heart of our commitment to safety. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, managing, and coordinating the full spectrum of Bunge Global’s safety, occupational health, and environmental standards, policies, and procedures. Your dedication will directly contribute to preventing incidents, safeguarding our people and facilities, and embedding a proactive safety culture across our site.
In this dynamic role, you will champion a safety-first mindset and drive continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include:

- Visible Field Presence: Spend significant time on the plant floor, acting as the go-to person for employees and contractors. You will coordinate job preparations, conduct Task Risk Assessments (TRAs), develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), lead toolboxes, and perform regular field walks.
- Cultivating a Proactive Safety Culture: Spearhead initiatives to promote active safety involvement across the site. This includes leveraging proactive indicator reporting, fostering 'free learnings,' and implementing safety recognition programs aligned with Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles.
- Incident Management & Analysis: Oversee the robust reporting and follow-up of all safety indicators and 'free learnings' involving Bunge employees, contractors, and visitors. Conduct thorough investigations into incidents and health hazards, analyze root causes, and develop effective action plans.
- Training & Development: Identify training needs and coordinate essential safety training and toolbox talks for all departments and tasks, including comprehensive inductions for contractors.
- Compliance & Improvement: Actively participate in implementing new safety systems and actions, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, audit findings, and Bunge Production System standards.
- Collaborative Safety Governance: Contribute actively to bi-weekly safety meetings and the safety committee, addressing safety concerns, establishing corrective actions, and participating in other organized safety forums.
You are an experienced safety professional with a robust foundation in HSE and an unwavering commitment to creating and maintaining secure work environments.
- Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or an HSE-related discipline.
- Expert Knowledge: In-depth understanding of regulations and standards in safety and occupational health.
- Practical Safety Skills: Proven competence in conducting thorough safety inspections, comprehensive risk assessments, and effective accident investigations.
- Training & Mentorship: A genuine passion for training, mentoring, and empowering teams to foster a truly proactive safety culture.
- Safety Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead safety meetings, drive impactful safety initiatives, and champion improvement projects.
At Bunge, we value our people and their well-being. We offer a stimulating environment where your contributions make a real difference:
- Competitive Compensation: A rewarding salary package that recognizes your expertise.
- Comprehensive Benefits: A robust pension program to secure your future.
