Civil Engineer

You will be part of Global Asset Engineering and Design team, a corporate function in APM Terminals HQ, responsible for the technical and financial evaluation of terminal development and investment projects across APM Terminals’ global portfolio.

Reporting to Head of Global Asset Engineering and Design, position will be based preferably in The Hague or Barcelona.(Expected global travel is around 20%.).

• Support the analysis, planning, and development of new terminal construction and expansion projects.
• Assist in updating and maintaining Standard Employer’s Requirements (SER) for civil works.
• Contribute to translating operational and commercial needs into technical specifications.
• Participate in feasibility studies, capacity assessments, and terminal master planning activities.
• Support procurement processes by helping prepare RFP documentation and evaluating proposals.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure alignment with technical, operational, and safety requirements.

Experience

• 3–7 years of experience in civil or marine engineering, ideally with exposure to infrastructure or industrial projects.
• Experience in ports, maritime works, or container terminal environments is an advantage.
• Ability to work in crossfunctional, multicultural environments.
• Understanding of how port equipment interacts with infrastructure is a plus.
• Familiarity with risk identification and mitigation in engineering projects.

Education

• MSc or BSc in Civil Engineering or Marine Engineering.
