We are looking for a person who is strong in Financial Control and optimizing processes with a first step in business control. In this dynamic role, you’ll oversee the financial control activities, being the key point of contact for our financial shared services organization, driving key financial & business improvement initiatives and ensuring strong financial health across Business Unit Netherlands (BU NL). You’ll be the financial brain to the Senior Business Controller, Manager Finance & Business Control and the Management Team of Business Unit Netherlands. • A salary ranging from a minimum of €60.000 and €80.000 based on knowledge and experience.

As the Business Controller, you will be a key player in ensuring accurate financial reporting, leading the month-end close process, and providing financial insights to support business decisions. You will oversee day-to-day finance operations and ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies.

You are going to be a member of the Finance & Business Control team of BU NL, consisting of a team of Business Controllers. As a Business Controller you act as a business partner to the organization. You will contribute to finance activities for the BU NL joint ventures, including governance, reporting and advising on financial matters.

• Financial Reporting & Closing: Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness;

• Drive continuous improvements in financial processes and administrative organization;

• Monitor compliance with financial reporting standards, lead the preparation of the statutory annual accounts and monthly VAT declarations. Act as a key point of contact for the financial shared services organization;

• Audit management: work with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit;

• Risk Management: Oversee internal controls, ensure compliance with policies, and coordinate risk management activities. Driving the identification of key (finance) business risks and opportunities and translating these into business process improvement and/or value creation initiatives as needed;

• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with various stakeholders to align financial goals with business objectives.

• You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, complemented by relevant professional experience in the field.

• You enjoy the end-to-end reporting process—from ensuring accurate month-end closes to shaping annual accounts. While experience with VAT or Joint Venture accounting is a plus, your ability to master complex financial structures is what we value most.

• You have a talent for organizing data and comparing financial scenarios to provide clear, actionable information for management.

• You are a collaborative problem-solver with a natural curiosity for data analytics and a drive to continuously improve workflows.

• You are comfortable and effective communicating with colleagues in both Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
