At this moment in time, LNG is the main fuel facilitating the energy transition in many countries in the world, particularly in Asia and China.

The Vopak LNG Division of Royal Vopak operates four terminals, of which two are land based and the other two are floating storage. The onshore terminals are GATE terminal in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and Terminal LNG Altamira, Mexico. In Port Qasim, Pakistan we are partnering with Engro in a floating regasification terminal and in Colombia we have a share in SPEC terminal in Cartagena. Next to our four operational terminals we are engaged in three projects, in Zhangzjiagang, Hamburg and Hong Kong. We are aiming for expanding our footprint in LNG infrastructure business worldwide and foresee significant growth for the coming years.

What will be your role?

Vopak has five divisions, of which Vopak LNG is the only division where the organization is based on a product line and working globally. The central Vopak LNG team consists of approximately 40 employees and will grow to about 60 in the course of the coming years.

The Human Resources (HR) intern is part of the global Vopak LNG HR team. The global HR LNG team consists of an HR Director and an HR Officer; the Vopak LNG division operates worldwide and HR LNG is working closely together with the HR teams in the other divisions. The responsibility of the HR team is to take care of the HR related issues related to the central team, but also HR practices within the joint ventures and projects. The position is located at the Westerlaan, our headquarters in Rotterdam.

Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Make an inventory of present and missing job profiles;

  • Align deviating description into job family structure;

  • Develop a job classification framework based on the available job profiles and taking into account Vopak classification system;

  • Develop training paths for the most recurrent positions;

  • Provide support to the LNG HR team by answering questions of the Vopak LNG team and solving problems, and following up on ongoing daily business.

Requirements

  • WO Bachelor/Master in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology or equivalent;

  • You are available as per February 2020 for about 5 months;

  • Fluent in English and Dutch;

  • Well-organized, a self-starter, analytically strong with enthusiasm and initiative;

  • Ability to work independently and in a small team.
