Reliability Engineer

Huntsman have an exciting opportunity for a Reliability Engineer with a strong passion to improve the reliability of the assets within our Rotterdam production facility. The Reliability Engineer focusses on the longer-term performance of all assets. He/she ensures that the needed (preventive) maintenance activities are listed well in advance to allow proper planning, scheduling, and execution.

Systematically the Reliability Engineer evaluates the performance of the key assets and ensures that the maintenance strategy is amended when needed.

• Monitors and analyses the production losses and abnormally high maintenance costs, identifies bad actors, then finds ways to cost efficiently reduce those losses or high costs and eliminate the bad actors.
• Performs or facilitates Root Cause Problem Solving investigations for recurring incidents and chronic failures, to identify root causes and to determine corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Systematically defines, develops, monitors, and refines asset maintenance strategies using reliability centered maintenance (RCM) methodology that includes value added preventive & predictive maintenance tasks and strategic spare part definition.
• Manages the Asset Life Cycle Plans and ensures Value-Based decisions are made for all disciplines and all areas in the replacement and overhaul of end-of-life assets.
• Prepares and manages the long-term Renewal Capex portfolio to ensure continuation of the required asset performance.
• Owner of the TA model and ensures timely and correct updates in line with the annual budgeting cycle.
• Is responsible for setting up OPEX (Preventive & Compliance) and CAPEX renewal budget, and continuously looks for ways to improve it
• Acts as a methodology expert for Bad Actor analysis, RCPS, RBI, RCM, FMECA, RAMS, Fault Tree analysis, Weibull Analysis and actively works together with GET to develop common strategies and to share best practices and learnings.
• Together with the Area Focus Team ensures that the Asset Maintenance strategy per Area is in line with the asset performance targets.

• Minimum 3 - 8 years Operations and maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering, additionally a lean Six Sigma Green Belt is an advantage
• Demonstrated skills of collaboration, effective communication, prioritization, and stake-holder management to manage multiple and sometimes competing priorities and tasks.
• Expert knowledge of principals and application of Maintenance, Reliability and Asset Management techniques such as RCM, RBI, FMECA, RAMS, Fault Tree Analysis, Weibull Analysis, Life Cycle Asset Management, OEE, Spare Parts Management
• Basic knowledge of principals and application of Maintenance / Asset Management concepts such as TPM and Lean Manufacturing
• Knowledge of production and business planning, budgeting, financial controls, and performance management processes as well as knowledge of data analysis, modeling, and interpretation.
• Expert knowledge of working with SAP
• Fluent in both English, and fluency in Dutch is a pre.
