ChemieHuntsman Rotterdam is currently looking for an experienced Materials Technology/ Corrosion Engineer who can bring relevant expertise to one of our key sites in our Polyurethane Division.
As a member of our Asset Management team you will provide expert material technology expertise regarding safe and reliable operation of all assets on the site. In this vital role you will give valuable advice on the selection of materials of construction, inspection techniques and fabrication technology.
Together with your team members you will drive our Maintenance Strategy to the next level, whilst contributing to a safe and stable operating plant.
- Providing technical advice about the suitability of materials of construction;
- Advising on, planning and organizing inspections, maintenance and repairs;
- Development of corrosion studies and input for the RBMI program;
- Accountability for on-line leak sealing and other special repair activities for fixed equipment;
- Liaising with suppliers, customers and manufacturing/development staff;
- Performing investigations in the event of malfunctions and incidents and provide advice in the decision-making with regard to repair and modification to prevent recurrence;
- Leading root cause investigations (RCPS) and Human Factor Analysis;
- Review feedback of routine maintenance work and inspections and make proposals for corrective actions or improvements.
- At least a technical Bsc. degree in Materials Technology, Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering. With a minimum of 5 years experience within Engineering and/or Operation and Maintenance, preferably within a (petro)chemical production site;
- Additional certification in IKT3 or IWE (International Welding Engineer) is seen as a strong advantage;
- Strong knowledge of best practices and global design standards for mechanical equipment, welding, NDE and materials selection;
- Expert knowledge of suitability of construction materials;
- Knowledge of principals and application of Maintenance and Asset Management techniques such as RCM, RBI, RBMI and FMECA;
- Strong social skills with the ability to advise and influence stakeholders on all levels;
- Fluent in both Dutch and English.
