This is the role

The Manager, Sustainable Solutions CLCS plays a vital role in LyondellBasell"s heightened commitment to sustainability, driving ambitious corporate strategies and targets. As a key member of the life cycle metrics team, this position collaborates closely with CLCS business stakeholders to facilitate life cycle assessment studies. Your responsibilities will include guiding and tailoring the Goal and Scope setup to meet specific business case needs, engaging with production engineers for data collection, and making informed decisions about the adoption of different standards.
Leveraging our LCA tools, you will support the communication of findings to relevant business stakeholders. Additionally, this role will actively contribute to interdisciplinary projects aimed at reducing GHG emissions and addressing various environmental sustainability topics. These initiatives will require effective stakeholder management across the company.

As the Manager, Sustainable Solutions CLCS, you will report to the Manager of Life Cycle Metrics, operating within the Global Sustainability framework. Your contributions will be integral to driving LyondellBasell"s sustainability agenda and fostering positive environmental impact throughout the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Acting as SME to provide the expertise on environmental levers into key innovation projects and overarching sustainable portfolio strategy discussions;
  • Co-develop and manage the governance structure that supports and accelerates life cycle metrics activities collaboration across the workstreams and with senior business leaders;
  • Manage the delivery of the LCA program across the O&P business in line with strategic and business objectives, and support the development of LCA studies in coordination with the LCA specialists;
  • Direct the inventorization of existing product claims, and support the business to ensure these are backed up by credible external frameworks (e.g. LCA, product design rules, etc);
  • Co-develop of high-quality and effective marketing and communication materials that align correctly with the overall brand and LYB sustainability strategy;
  • Represents LyondellBasell in relevant LCA and product sustainability metrics industry association discussions;
  • Support and develop LyondellBasell positions in industry associations as it relates to policy developments on sustainable products;
  • Support the development of content for external reporting and communication efforts.

This is what you bring

  • University degree ideally in natural sciences, economics, engineering or a comparable course of study and first experience in chemical production, process engineering, LCA or consulting;
  • Superior understanding of the I&D production land scape and understanding of the customer journey;
  • Good understanding of LCA methodology as well as first experience in its practical application;
  • Passion for calculating and understanding environmental impact with excellent analytical skills, an eye for details, a structured work approach and prioritizing skills as well as problem-solving orientation and planning skills;
  • Aptitude for learning new software, and previous experience with GaBi or other LCA software is a plus;
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative but also a team player with a strong work ethic, humility, a can-do attitude and a collaborative mindset;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills together with solid stakeholder management skills;
  • Fluent in spoken and written English. Another language is a plus;
  • First experiences in stakeholder engagement (internal and/or external) are desirable.
