Site Environmental Manager

At the location of ADM Europoort B.V. we process soybeans and rapeseed. We make various products from this, such as flour and oil for the food and animal feed industry. More than 325 people work at ADM Europoort in the bulk terminal, crush & extraction factory, refinery and soy protein concentrate (SPC) factory. These departments are supported by our own chemical and microbiological laboratory, maintenance & reliability department and the SHEQ department. We also work closely with our in-house contractors who provide (industrial) cleaning, scaffolding, insulation work and technical support.

The ADM Europoort office also houses large commercial and logistics departments, process automation and CAPEX project management teams; as well as departments for payroll, HR and IT.

Site Environmental Manager

This role will report to the regional environmental director and work directly with the site SHEQ Manager.

• Primary environmental contact and support for the facility;
• Monitor the site’s activities and implement actions to ensure compliance with all ADM, European, Dutch and local government environmental regulations and requirements;
• Communicate with regulatory agencies as required for environmental issues;
• Prepare appropriate permit applications and regulatory applicability analysis for environmental regulations and requirements;
• Maintain and manage the site’s EMS including, but not limited to policy, standardization, procedure development, incident investigations – root cause analyses, risk reduction efforts, inspections, audits and training;
• Participate in and lead environmental audits or environmental agency visits and prioritize, assign and track the audit findings for completion;
• Prepare required reports and maintain all necessary records/documentation related to environmental programs for the facility, such as EU-ETS and ePRTR (eMJV);
• Develop and provide training for employees and contractors related to the environmental programs;
• Participate in the site’s performance excellence program.

Knowledge of environmental regulations, management systems and permitting;

• Good project/program management skills;
• Proven problem solving, diagnostic and analytical skills;
• Excellent and effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, acts as a reliable pro-active communicator, including the ability to organize and lead meetings;
• Team player, collaborative, and good influencing skill
• Languages: Fluency in Dutch and English
