Lab en inspectieYour goal is the daily operational and people management of Laboratory Services for our Fuels division in Rotterdam and Amsterdam.

The following examples help you shape a picture of the laboratory services accountabilities of this position:
- You ensure that there is cooperation between Rotterdam and Amsterdam with clear profiles on added value derived from both laboratories
- You have the skills to prepare and present business cases to support investments decisions related to existing and new laboratory equipment
- As a laboratory manager you can ensure that laboratory services are delivered against organizational quality standards, customer wishes, on time and within the budget
- You take responsibility for managing costs and for choosing the right layout for our laboratories to maximize utilization rate of equipment
- Day-to-day you’ll facilitate a closer co-operation between the Laboratory, Field and Customer Services department by coaching Team Leads and offering support in operational challenges.

- Your senior leadership position requires you to act as an example when it comes to the engaging working culture we want to establish, meaning you are able to energize and engage employees in your own team and the related teams
- You track, maintain and act to secure P&L for your department and the organization.
- You are expected to manage the budget and ensure its achievement
- You ensure your occupation is aligned to the budget, P&L and growth objectives through recruitment, engagement, performance, and development related activities in co-operation with relevant stakeholders.
The biggest challenges are to:
- Empower and coach team members in their roles
- Recruit new employees within the tight labor market in close cooperation with HR
- Take care of workflow optimization in the laboratory services
- Monitor the financial forecast and maintain team performance in an effective, productive and sustainable manner.
After the onboarding period of appr. 6 to 12 months we expect you to be able to achieve your objectives, take care of people and ensure an engaging and safety focused culture.

We believe the following knowledge & skills will help you in this position:
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor or Master degree related to Chemistry, Chemical engineering, or Analytical Chemistry
- At least 10 years of working experience in laboratory services and 7+ operational and people management experience
- Through your management experiences you’ve gathered some financial insight that helps you in the financial management of this position
- Having knowledge and experience in TIC- Business/ ISO 17025/ Analytical chemistry is an added benefit. This will help you understand and be more easily involved in the day-to-day team activity
- A salary that matches your responsibilities and experience
- Holiday allowance of 8% of your annual gross salary
- 13th month salary
