European Product Manager General Chemicals

You will be part of the Pharma EMEA Industry Market Management team and workclosely together with our Local Product Manager, Sales and Pharma Services teamacross EMEA region.

Your main responsibilities will be to manage key suppliers and product basketof General Chemicals used in API production and pharmaceutical applications.You will play an important role in supporting our Local Product Managers andour Sales team and in providing guidance for the Pharma industry based onthorough and up to date market know how.

• Build value adding key supplierrelationships, and full responsibility of supplier management (incl. supplierselection, sourcing, and product management – price/contract negotiation, GPmargin optimisation, stock inventory management and optimisation) for thesegment of General Chemicals
• Prepare and publish monthly updates on General Chemicals market dynamics andmarket analysis (feed-stock market pricing, movements, supply situation, overallmarket intelligence) to strategically support the business development
• Act as Product Expert, bringing and developing solvents market know-how todrive strategies for pharma business, in coordination with the Synthesisstrategy
• Identify market trends and opportunities in the pharma sector, based oncustomer needs and market changes, that hold business potential
• Build Technical & Commercial support for sales and product managers(Product information, Newsletters, Training) – on new products, suppliers, andapplications
• Develop marketing and business positioning campaigns together with themarketing team and execute them
• Define the themes, priorities and focus areas for exhibitions and participatein regional trade fair activities
• Participate in joint visits with suppliers and customers to uphold technicaldiscussions and to provide support to sales and the overall business
• Facilitate open and honest communication within the department, and withemployees at all levels of the company. Communicate regularly with peers acrossthe company and within the department on appropriate matters.

• University degree in Science (Chemistry, ChemicalEngineering, Organic Chemistry, or related disciplines)
• Strong product and market knowledge of General Chemicalsproducts and commodity business is essential
• Multiple years experience in the Chemical Distribution orChemical Industry
• Experience in Product Management or strong network andrelationship building capability with suppliers
• Knowledge or experience in the pharmaceutical market is aplus
• Ability to work under pressure to find effective win/win/winsolutions
• Solid presentation skills and fluency in English, bothwritten and verbal
• Sound computer skills in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word,PowerPoint, SAP, CRM
• Availability to travel internationally as required.
