Internship Opportunity: Innovation Scout Intern

Are you a dynamic and ambitious student passionate about shaping the future of smart ports? The Port of Rotterdam is seeking a forward-thinking individual to join our Innovation Team as an Innovation Scout Intern.

As an integral part of the Innovation Team, you will play a crucial role in accelerating innovation within the Port of Rotterdam. Your responsibilities will include:

• First point of contact for stakeholders reaching out about innovation opportunities.
• Managing the database of solution providers.
• Conducting market studies on specific topics or domains (e.g. defining the solution area, analyzing the competitive field, reviewing recent news articles, etc.).
• Collecting, merging, and presenting insights to inspire and inform colleagues.
• Collaborating closely with our experienced Innovation Leads, benefiting from personal guidance throughout your internship.

Duration:
o Mid January to Mid August, apply by November 15.
o Mid August to Mid January, apply by June 15.
o Please specify your desired internship period if you are applying outside of these periods.

• The internship comes with a generous internship fee: € 1.043 gross per month on the basis of 36 hours per week.

We are committed to making the Rotterdam port the most efficient, smart, and sustainable port. Our core tasks include sustainable development, management, and operation of all port activities, ensuring smooth and safe handling of nautical activities amidst commercial and public interests.

• Demonstrated affinity with digital and/or energy transition domains.
• You are well into your applied science or university studies (pre-thesis stage).
• You can commit to 4-5 days a week for 6-7 months.
• You are independent and proactive, and you possess excellent communication skills (at least English C1).
