Senior Project Manager

To support a growing portfolio of technically challenging projects we want to add to our global team of high performing Project Management professionals based out of our European office in The Hague, Netherlands. These roles will suit current high achievers looking to advance their careers with the world leader in industrial and process gases.

We are looking for experienced Senior Project Managers with significant EPC project execution experience, who will be accountable for managing the development and execution of medium and large-scale capital projects in Germany as well as within the EMEA region generally.

• Be determined, adaptable and resilient with the ability to drive and empower teams to achieve project’s critical success factors under significant pressure, evolving requirements, and conflicting priorities.
• Be culturally astute with experience and ability to understand and adapt leadership and management styles to different cultures associated with multi-region project execution and a multi-cultural team. Experience in customer and external stakeholder management and proven track record to influence to achieve success.
• Have established and proven track record to form relationships with key individuals in all teams, JV partner, and national companies across multi regions and functions that are involved in the execution of projects. Able to leverage those strong relationships to the benefit of the project.
• Provide leadership and support to the project development team to complete detailed project cost estimation and structure the project control budgets.
• Develop and execute detailed execution strategy, execution plan, execution risk management plan, technical risk management plan.
• Ensure delivery of the EPC contract deliverables
• Deliver the field scope of project delivery, commissioning, start-up, and handover to JV / Operations, within corporate Personal and Process Safety targets.
• Be accountable for the adequacy of safety and security measures for personnel deployed to the site.
• Manage the engineering – construction interface, ensuring local content and practice requirements are satisfied and that constructability and value engineering are front and centre throughout engineering execution.
• Control the project budget, identify and handle scope changes. Handle project change control ensuring costs are appropriately allocated to EPC or JV partners.
• Ensure Project compliance with Anti-Bribery and Corruption requirements for all project elements within own control.

• Engineering Degree or equivalent.
• Chartered engineer with significant international major & megaproject management experience.
• Strong capability in the application of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
• Track record of leading large international project teams to successful delivery.
• For this position, German language skills and knowledge / experience of working in Germany will be essential.
