Innovation Lab Technician - Biomedical Polymers

Our Biomaterials Business Unit develops, produces, and supplies biodegradable polymers to the medical and pharmaceutical industries. Our materials are critical to applications such as resorbable orthopedic implant, excipient for long acting pharmaceutical implants or as bio-stimulating agent in aesthetic dermal fillers. With production facilities in Gorinchem, The Netherlands, and Tucker, GA, USA, we work closely with our customers to deliver tailored, high-quality solutions that meet the industry's most stringent demands.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Technician B to join our dynamic team of scientists and engineers, dedicated to hands-on lab work in developing and optimizing bioresorbable polymers. This is a lab-focused position at the heart of innovation, supporting the advancement of high-performance materials contributing directly to the development and optimization of bioresorbable polymers within our Biomaterials Business Unit.

• Project Participation: Execute and support laboratory work for various projects, ensuring timely and accurate results. Effectively manage multiple tasks and signal and report deviations timely.

• Research Execution: Schedule own activities and support programs execution in collaboration with the team. Develop and maintain experiment planning, and conduct research in accordance with established procedures, consulting with senior technicians, specialists, scientists, or managers.

• Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document and report procedures and results in compliance with GDP practices, paying particular attention to detail. Include comprehensive methods, observations, results, and techniques utilized.

• Data Analysis: Analyze, interpret, and process experimental results by applying basic statistics, and adjust research methods as needed to maintain quality and accuracy.

• Team Collaboration: Share insights with colleagues, assist with cross-functional communication, and support collaborative problem-solving.

• Lab Maintenance: Help preserve equipment, enforce safety and housekeeping protocols, and uphold a clean, organized workspace

• Protocol Development: Contribute to the development of new protocols in collaboration with senior technicians and scientists.

• Onboarding Support: Support the onboarding of new colleagues and students.

• Sustainability: Align with Corbion’s sustainability initiatives and attend required training.

• Safety: Actively participates and maintain equipment’s and facilities. Ensure high safety and housekeeping standards. Follow EHS & Quality rules. Report unsafe situations and incidents.

• Educational Background: BSc in a relevant field with 1-4 years of experience or MSc with 0 years of experience.

• Knowledge of polymer chemistry, processing techniques and analytical methods.

• Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team.

• Analytical mindset and proactive approach to problem-solving.

• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Proactive Attitude: Self-motivated, pragmatic, and eager to learn.

• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
