Laboratory Coordinator

Responsible for Lab Operations, expediting and testing within the laboratory for their assigned workflow and coordinating the shift and day team and also operating as troubleshooter. Accountable for keeping the (Operational) Laboratory Manager informed of all lab needs as well as arranging analytical assignments, daily quality control, reviewing final reports, record keeping, and physical maintenance of the lab.

• Ensuring technically correct test methods on a daily basis and coordinating the different shifts and Laboratory Employees;
• Address all technical issues that arise from routine analysis and confer with (Operational) Lab Manager issues of less routine nature;
• Coordinate and plan training for Laboratory Supervisors and Laboratory Technicians according to agreed requirement and needs;
• Coordinate and schedule specialties and lab assignments to Laboratory Technicians and in close contact with (Quality) Account Managers;
• Receiving, compiling, and verifying the data resulting from lab testing;
• Reading and understanding all applicable analysis and safety standards including ASTM, UOP, and IP;
• Performing analysis according to customer, industry standards and requirements;
• Receiving, reviewing, and understanding work orders for all samples;
• Preparation of corresponding analytical reports;
• Completing required safety training and necessary certifications;
• Liaison between Lab Management, Operations and Customer Services;
• Coordinating with Retain/ Shipping and Receiving to outsource samples for customers and internal laboratories;
• Communicate directly with Operations regarding analysis updates and issues
• Performing other lab related duties as assigned
• To assist in identifying and correcting any non-conformances with regards to quality, operational or safety matters;

• Technical High School diploma (HBO/University degree) or equivalent similar;
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a comparable organization and role, minimum 7 years’ experience within the TIC industry;

Essentials

• VCA (Basis veiligheid) – SCC (Safety Health Environment – Safety Checklist Contractors) and / or equal;
• Ability to work well with others & independently, without supervision;
• Advanced communication and interpersonal skills are essential;
• Candidates must demonstrate advanced verbal and written communication skills in their native language and English;
• Proficiency in other languages besides English (Dutch, Spanish, Russian, Italian etc.) is valuable.
• Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
• Proficient in using several types of computer and planning software (Word, Excel. PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ensures full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies.

• Working in Shift-systems, meaning that extended and/or irregular hours will be required;
