Laboratory Shift Supervisor

Responsible for expediting and testing within the laboratory for their assigned workflow and coordinating the shift. Accountable for keeping the Laboratory Manager and Assistant Lab Manager informed of all lab needs as well as arranging analytical assignments, daily quality control, reviewing final reports, record keeping, and physical maintenance of the lab.

• Ensuring technically correct test methods on a daily basis and coordinating the shift;
• Address all technical issues that arise from routine analysis and confer with Lab Manager and Lab Supervisor on issues of less routine nature;
• Coordinate and schedule lab assignments to Analysts;
• Receiving, compiling, and verifying the data resulting from lab testing;
• Reading and understanding all applicable analysis and safety standards including ASTM, UOP, and IP;
• Performing analysis according to customer, industry standards and requirements;
• Receiving, reviewing, and understanding work orders for all samples;
• Preparation of corresponding analytical reports;
• Completing required safety training and necessary certifications;
• Liaison between Lab Management, Operations and Customer Services;
• Coordinating with Retain/ Shipping and Receiving to outsource samples for customers and internal laboratories;
• Communicate directly with Operations regarding analysis updates and issues
• Performing other lab related duties as assigned
• To assist in identifying and correcting any non-conformances with regards to quality, operational or safety matters;

• Technical High School diploma (MBO level-NL) or equivalent similar;
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a comparable organization and role, minimum 2 years’ experience within the TIC industry;

• VCA (Basis veiligheid) – SCC (Safety Health Environment – Safety Checklist Contractors) and / or equal;
• Ability to work well with others & independently, without supervision;
• Advanced communication and interpersonal skills are essential;
• Candidates must demonstrate advanced verbal and written communication skills in their native language and English;
• Proficiency in other languages besides English (Dutch, Spanish, Russian, Italian etc.) is valuable.
• Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
• Proficient in using several types of computer and planning software (Word, Excel. PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ensures full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies.

• Working in Shift-systems, meaning that extended and/or irregular hours will be required;
• Actively promotes good housekeeping and safe use of equipment.
